A Home Reflective of a Craftsman’s Trade
This sturdy frame house is one of the new kids on the block. Built by Alsatian born Pierre Krust in 1907, the house is filled with original woodwork, reflective of his trade as a shipbuilder. The house, built on the back yard of the Krust family house next door has only had three owners. After Mr. Krust died in 1919, family members continually occupied the house until 1938. Brother and sister, Tom and Anna Zoldak then purchased the house, sharing it with their extended family. As her family moved on, Miss Zoldak lived in the home until 1992. When the long neglected house was purchased in 1993 by Tim Del Papa, it was a time capsule, virtually unchanged in 50 years. Now, as Mr. Del Papa’s primary residence, the home has been accurately restored, maintaining the integrity and historical elements.
