My first house….where the story begins

The beginnings of this house are a bit of a mystery.  We do know that local saloon owner, Conrad Fredricks and his widowed sister, Magdalena Woehrle were the first owners.  The house was built in the 1880’s and after Mrs. Woehrle’s death in 1901, it remained in the family until the 1920’s.  During the 1950’s the property was beginning to decline. A series of absentee landlords neglected the house for several decades and was ultimately illegally converted into four units. In 1982, Ken and Marcia Braun painstakingly restored the house into a double, salvaging as many of the original features as they could. The beautiful finished product was purchased by Tim Del Papa in 1988, becoming his residence for the next five years.
